Youth Worker Speakers

Randy Carter

Randy Carter loves working with students! He regularly can be heard saying, “Why would anyone choose to work with adults when they can work with students?” Randy has been involved in youth ministry since 1979, eleven years of which he served as a youth pastor with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Since July 1994 Randy has been an itinerant youth speaker and a youth ministry consultant with Straight Talk Ministries. Randy’s unique blend of humour and direct approach to truth allows him to captivate the listener and drive home truth in a relevant and meaningful way. Randy has spoken throughout Canada, as well as into the United States and even as far as Malaysia.

Larry Moore

Larry has been involved in youth ministry for over 35 years, and is presently the Executive Director of United Youth Outreach, the covering for Street Invaders, Equipping, and various other outreaches. He was born in Ontario, started ministry in New Brunswick (youth worker – 9 years), then Saskatchewan (Youth Pastor/Senior Pastor – 10 years), Calgary (Associate Pastor – 5 years) and finally in his position as Executive Director for the past 18 years.

His heart is to see people – especially students won to Christ, developed into powerful disciples and sent out as influencers for the Kingdom of Light. He believes that one of the best ways we can see this happen is to influence those who influence students – youth leaders.

Larry is married to Sandra and they have 4 grown children: Adam, Greg, Luke, Daniel and 1 furboy; Baxter The Wonderdog. He also continues to believe that one day the Toronto Maple Leafs will win the Stanley Cup (a man of faith indeed).

Rick Wengel

Rick is presently serving in Equipping, a Youth and Children’s Worker training seminar based out of United Youth Outreach. He has served in youth ministry for over 30 years and has a passion for students to experience a living relationship with Christ that will change their life and their world. Rick is married with 3 married children and has 6 grandkids. His favourite sport is hockey, which makes him truly Canadian.
